The Larger Than Life Bavarian Santa

This is the 6 1/2′-tall Santa Claus festooned in trachten suggestive of a Bavarian Christmas. Worthy of the entry hall, foyer, or even as an accompaniment to a tree, this Santa wears a textured, open vest with two gold-painted vest chains to secure its opposite buttons – the characteristic trachtenschmuck worn by men of the Altbayern region of southern Germany. Sculpted from resin and handpainted with convincing detail, Santa’s ruddy cheeks, bulbous nose, and weathered, open hands assign to him a jolly holiday spirit while his benevolent, all-seeing eyes note the naughty and nice through wire-framed spectacles. Resplendent in his gold-painted boot and belt buckles, his suit is made from crimson, golden-stitched velvet trimmed in polyester white “fur” – his full beard and mustache are made from longer strands brushed and shaped for realism.
